The pro league will be for teams of six paddlers racing in identical rafts, provided by Liquid Life. This year the Pro raft race will double as the Scottish National Championship and the event will be endorsed and supported by the Scottish Rafting Association.
All team members must either have a Scottish Rafting Association qualification (or equivalent) or be an entrant in the kayak race. All entrants will be required to provide their own wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets. If you wish you can supply your own paddles or you can choose to use the paddles provided.
The races will be two boat, head to head sprints from below zig zag to the finish line below the Linn of Tummel. The winner of each heat will progress to the next round.
There will be a men's and women's divisions for 2006 with the mens limited to a maximum of sixteen teams and the womens a maximum of eight teams.

Rules for Pro Class
False starts will result in the boat/boats infringing having to touch a penalty marker in the designated eddy.
No intentional holding back of other boats. Offenders will be disqualified. "Jostling" for position with paddles and/or boats is expected and accepted.
First over the line wins. Your boat must be upright with all paddlers onboard.
