For 2006 we have increased the number of categories to seven to include both and open and a pro division in the men's, and by popular demand an OC1 category. The breakdown of the categories is as follows:
Men's open - 128 paddlers
Women's - 64 paddlers
Men's pro - 32 paddlers
Masters (men or women, over 40) - 16 paddlers
Juniors (men or women, under 18) - 16 paddlers
C1 (men or women) - 16 paddlers
OC1 (men or women) - 16 paddlers
The two classes for men's racing, the open and pro are restricted as follows:
Men are allowed to enter either one or the other but not both!
If you are a pro paddler, a sponsored paddler or part of the Seven Down series you must enter the pro category. 16 spots in the pro class will be reserved for Seven Down athletes. Non sponsored paddlers are able to enter the pro if they choose to do so but are obviously not allowed to enter the men's open too.
Entry fee for all categories is £35 per paddler, except for the juniors which is £25 per paddler.
It is possible to enter more than one class, but no more than two (logistically this will be too difficult for you to make all your heats). e.g. men's open and C1, or women's and OC1. If you would like to do this an additional £15 will be charged for the second entry.

Topo Duo
Entry into topo duo racing will be £25 per team of two paddlers.

Pro Raft
For 2006 there will be both men's and a women's categories. All teams will consist of six paddlers. Mixed teams will be entered in the men's category. Men's class - maximum 8 teams, women's class - maximum 4 teams.
Entry into the pro raft will be £100 per team of six. The prize money will be 80% of the total entry fees collected per class. e.g. 8 teams enter =£800 x 80% = £640 prize money. 7 teams enter =£700 x 80% = £560 prize money etc.
